Dear Sarath
Further to my previous email and newspaper report in the Sunday ‘Nation’ newspaper on the
22nd June 2008 where Mr. Upali Dharmadasa, the President, Board of Control of Cricket in Sri Lanka in 1997 acknowledges receiving my proposal on the Umpire Referral Rule and then instructing his CEO Mr. T. Mirando, to study the proposal and submit a
Report to the Board.of Cricket Control in Sri Lanka, I am attaching a a copy of a recent letter of congratulations from Mr. Alastair
Abraham to Mr. Upali Dharmadasa where Mr. Abraham refers to my Umpire Referral Rule proposal which he personally handed over to Mr. Dharmadasa in May 1997 on my behalf with the request that it be tabled at the annual meeting of the ICC scheduled to be held in July 1997.
I was then in Australia ( 1997) and I sent this proposal by fax to Mr. Alastair Abraham in Colombo  with the specific request that it be handed over to Mr. Upali Dharmadasa (then President of the Board of Cricket Control in Sri Lanka) for the consideration of the Board
and subsequent tabling at a meeting of the ICC.
Mr. Abraham did exactly that and he reminds Mr. Dharmadasa 14 years later of that incident.
This is further proof of the fact that I had informed the ICC ( Sri Lanka Board is an affliated member of the ICC ) in 1997,
though the Board did not take appropriate action as desired.
This inaction and default on the part of the Board of Cricket Control in Sri Lanka has caused substantial prejudice and detriment to my interest and claims on the issue of recognition of authorship of the UDRS.

Thanks.
